Single-chip Narrow-band & High-speed PLC IC LME2980C

LME2980C is a highly integrated and high performance narrow-band PLC transceiver IC based on advanced OFDM technology for data communication over low-voltage, medium-voltage or DC power lines. With over 50 million field installations, the chip is proven to deliever the most robust performance so far in the market.

LME2980C has receiver analog front-end built-in with wide-dynamic-range PGA and AGC, making the chip simple and easy to use to build a single-chip high-performance PLC modem. Besides, the chip has on-chip MCU to run user defined PLC protocol stack and application software.

 

Features and Major Specifications

  • Carrier frequency and bandwidth: support user defined carrier frequency and bandwidth below 500 kHz, thus well supports China PLC band, European CENELEC A/B/C/D band, ARIB and FCC band.
  • Modulation: OFDM, support zero-crossing transmission (Z-OFDM)
  • Subcarrier modulation: BPSK/QPSK/16QAM, support robutst mode
  • Data rate: typically 5-20kbps for bandwidth of 48kHz
  • On-chip MCU: 8051 with 24MHz clock, 64KB program memory and 8KB data RAM
  • On-chip receiver analog front-end
  • I/O interface: 2 x UART ports, SPI and GPIOs, PWM, JTAG
  • Hardware watch-dog
  • On-chip AES encryption/decryption
  • 3.3VDC single power supply
  • 48-pin, 7mm X 7mm LQFP small package
